Back in Nepal
After another 26 hour bus trip, which included waiting, sitting on the bus for 2 1/2 hours at our final stop until it got light enough to unload the bags and find taxi's...(can you imagine that anywhere in the US?) I am back in Nepal...YES!
I met up with Betty and we had a really nice day together in Kathmandu. One of the highlights of which was replacing my lost camera. I will upload just a few pictures I took this afternoon, just to give the blog some color, and then...I am off for Thai food and...a BEER!

Took an overnight-er, got the bottom bunk, from YuanYang to Kunming @ 14hrs. It stopped three or four times during the night. The drive itself was only a 6.5hr drive. Then, arriving a little before five in the am, the bus driver split, the passengers casually kept sleeping with, as you know, the plan of lingering luxuriously and leisurely until it was light enough to unload and go to work. I, on the other hand, was unreasonably anxious and compulsively in need of moving on to the hotel and breakfast that I tracked down the driver in the truckdriver lounge nap spot, roused him out for the keys to the luggage compartment, got my stuff and split for the Banguan Camelia and a kim chee omelette style buffet and a real bed. The bus beds fit exactly head to toe on me. 24 sounds too long for a bus. A train sounds fine but not a bus.
